WP3.4: Gas Usage, End User Safety and Environmental Protection

The objectives

The main planed targets of WP4 are related to increase the knowledge level of gas engineers in following topics:

  1. Co-generation installation as efficient ways to economically utilize primary energy
  2. Utilization of micro co-generation installations in industrial local systems
  3. Increase in local energetic safety
  4. End user safety
  5. Environmental protection in gas engineering

The main aspects of work package WP3.4 are related to increase of vocational knowledge of engineers in following aspects: new technology using co-generation techniques as a way to increase of energy safety (Directive of EC), by large installation build-in the place of conventional coal installation, use of new- micro co-generation installation.

The last two topic includes:

  • Safety regulation by use of new innovative techniques
  • New requirements in the modern home window systems, new home heating systems
  • New requirements for internal installations
  • Quality of gas according to the new European Regulations.

The second topic is related to various ways of reducing of environmental impact of gas industry. The main action is related to reduce low emission of exhaust toxic gases (SO2, NOx, CO2), promote discussion about new ecological solution in the utilization of natural gas by introducing new generation of burners, installation co-generation units etc.

  • P3: Prepare of program of dissemination for WP4

  • P4: Responsible for of total quality management

The overall duration

Total overall duration of task: 291 days

The working methods and techniques

The selection of technical material concerned topics of course and conversion into multimedia material ready to publish in Internet, on CD etc.

The expected outcomes/results of the work package

The main outcome is prototype of multidisciplinary courses "Gas Usage, End User Safety and Environmental Protection"

Dissemination ways

Responsible P2: Preparing web server, forum of experts on web, CD's with announcements of course, folders and brochures, articles on topics at regional vocational conferences, workshops with outside gas experts, and articles in regional press.
