CELGAS - Conventional and e-Learning Gas Engineering Centre

WP2.5 Pre-course meeting

WP2.5.1 Presentation of software

The selected software will be demonstrated by provider and extensively tested before use. The provider of software shall describe power of software, to indicate type and kind of multimedia materials which may be apply in the educational process. This is important for the WP3, where most of content related input will be generated. The success of the Pilot Project is guaranteed by balance of novel methodises, novel content related essence and modern techniques.

WP2.5.2 The training of trainers

At this stage it is too early to appoint task managers although there are several suitable candidates. At the start of the project the CeLGAS will have to decide on such matters following the presentation of different alternatives from the coordinator. The procedure to be used in carrying this task involves extensive consultation with both partners and with representatives from industry (by help of vocational society). For ensuring this, reference groups, consisting of professional bodies and large and small process industry undertakings, will be set up. These groups will meet or communicate at regional level to review progress in this task and suggest changes.

The training procedure is innovative in the sense that "classic" courses have seldom involved industrial involvement and have been primarily based on the expertise possessed by the providers. The existence of a trans-national network of the foremost experts in the field permits a similar selection of a broad range of expertise, which will be in a position to satisfy needs which will be identified by the ultimate users and not by the providers.
